White Church Steeples in Autumn…
Saturday, October 3rd, 2009I love Autumn, I really do. It’s a fleeting moment in time where the combination of suddenly crisp air and the whiff of baking apples, the grade school hand-traced turkeys on the fridge, weekend drives in the north country for tricolor corn and fat pumpkins, white church steeples framed by a rainbow of orange, gold, and burgundy, bags of bite sized candy bars that you aren’t supposed to touch for weeks but do anyway, the comfort of warm socks and hot cider, football (finally!), and even the first sniffles of a cold red nose make me glad to be alive. Almost takes the sting out of Summer ending.
