Usage of a tubal cannulator
Laparoscopic tube reversal is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure (laparoscopy), using small, specialized surgical instruments to reconnent the fallopian tubes in females. After giving general anesthesia, a 10mm tubecalled trocar is introduced just at the lower edge of the navel, and a gas is pumped into the abdomen to create sufficient space to perform the surgery precisely. The laparoscope, attached to a photographic camera, is inserted into the abdominal cavity through the same tube, and the pelvis/abdomen is properly observed. The tubes are evaluated and the obstruction is examined. 3 surgical instruments are used to remove the occlusion and prepare the two segments of the tube to be connected back. One method involves the usage of a tubal cannulator, which is introduced into the womb via the cervix, tubal ligation reversal allowing the tube to be reattached with a fine stent. This permits for better alignment of the tubes, so a much better connection can be achieved. Little sutures (less than a hair’s-breadth in thickness) are cautiously and meticulously put to connect the 2 sections.
